Ingredients

  • Rockfish of Choice

    • Photos show what is called black gill rockfish. You can use any type of rockfish such as blues, blacks, yellow tail, vermilion, canaries, browns, chili peppers, widows and olives. I also really love to use lingcod.

  • Cap’n Rodney’s Blackened Seasoning

  • Butter

  • Best in Cast Iron Skillet

Instructions

  1. Coat both sides of raw fish with Cap’n Rodney’s blackened seasoning.

  2. Heat a cast iron skillet really hot. Then add butter of your liking. We use Miyoko’s plant based butter.

  3. Add your seasoned fish to the hot skillet for about 2 minutes per side, until nice and blackened on both sides. We like to do it outside because it smokes up the house.

  4. Take out & serve with your favorite sides. We recommend enjoying this with Roasted Veggies, Mashed Potatoes, or Rice
